Blogging is one online-based activity that is really popular. People of different backgrounds and beliefs, young or old, have their own blogs. What factors contribute to its popularity? What magic does blogging have that the online community is so full of it?
* Blogging gives a person the opportunity to express his thoughts and feelings without any interventions. He does not have to look for a publication company that will take him in. And he is free to write whatever he wants to; nobody dictates what he has to do or write about. He does not have to seek the approval of anyone.
* A blogger has the open opportunity to connect to the world. Blogging gives him an opportunity to meet other people online; it gives him the chance to learn and share with bloggers from even the remotest countries in the world. At the same time, blog visitors are given the chance to leave comments and suggestions, so the blogger gets the chance to find out what others think of his ideas and experiences. Likewise, it gives him an opportunity to know what really interests readers and his co-bloggers from other parts of the world.
* Aside from being interactive, blogs are also personal. This is one aspect of blogging that makes it truly interesting. And this is the reason why many people would rather read blogs online than check out other forms of media, even if they were available for free online.
* Since blogs have a personal touch, readers are more inclined to identify themselves with the blogger. This contributes to a blogger's good online reputation and credibility. The option for photo and video insertion is also another aspect that makes blogs attractive.
* Some fresh-out-of-college writers use blogs as a start-up for their careers. Blogs give them the opportunity to practice what they learned without anybody interfering.
* Blogging is also something that many businesses nowadays find beneficial, both in terms of communicating with their clients and getting to know their employees. Blogs are like daily journals, which mean that they are constantly updated. They are never static so more often than not, information keeps growing. Keeping up-to-date with their clients' needs becomes easier with blogs because they are able to frequently check the site and find out what is new or what has been added. Clients and employees' opinions can also be found in these blogs, and these will help company formulate steps or methods that will help address the issues raised by both the clients and employees.
There are many other benefits to having a blog. It all depends on your purpose for having one. The best reason, however, is that it helps the blogger exercise his rights for free communication. |
