When a couple decide to get married the alarm bells may start to ring as they begin to plan the wedding. A wedding is considered one of the most important but also one of the most expensive events in a couples lives.
Many brides do not want to consider cutting back and having a budget wedding. However the cost of buying designer wedding dresses and expensive designer wedding cakes can soon lead to friction and arguments between the bride and groom.
Rather than dismiss the idea of cutting back on all your wedding plans, try to keep in mind that there are some fantastic wedding ideas available that do not cost the earth. Quite often you can achieve the same result for far less if you take the time to analyze what items of the wedding are blowing your budget.
Some of the main culprits of upping the cost of the wedding are the wedding dresses, the cakes the venue and the reception. You may have in mind a particular designer wedding dress which is obviously going to cost more than one off the shelf which would be equally good enough. It would seem that a lot of suppliers and designers are willing to take advantage of the day in question by hiking their prices by an absurd amount.
It is important when planning your wedding ideas, your wedding dress and all the aspects of your wedding day that having expensive tastes could potentially leave you with years of debt. Being in debt and starting a new life with your partner means you are likely to miss out on other things later on. Will you be able to afford that holiday next year? Can you afford to make changes within your home?
Try to remember the bigger picture when considering your wedding ideas. Yes, your day should be the best day in your life but are there things you want that will go unnoticed if they were not there? Are your wedding ideas simply indulgent and over the top?
These days the tradition where the father of the bride pays for the wedding is not always maintained or suitable. This is mainly due to the costs involved in planning an expensive wedding. It would simply be far too expensive for one person to shoulder the entire cost.
You may want to consider asking for money instead of wedding gifts. Although this is not traditional you can then put the money towards the overall cost of the wedding, leaving you with far less debt after the day.
Finding cheaper wedding ideas does not mean you have to go without. Do your research and find the best deals around. Most importantly ask yourself if what you want is really necessary. |
