If you are like me, you will avoid taking any medications when it comes to your health. Many of us believe that medications are poison for your body and natural remedies are a better choice, especially in the treatment of acne. Accutane is particularly frightening because of all of the side effects. Natural remedies for the treatment of acne will have very few side effects if any.

The Chinese believe in having a healthy mind body and soul. They are, after all the ones who came up with acupuncture. They are known for coming up with alternatives for health treatments.

To treat acne, they have found that herbal remedies have been effective as treatment for acne. Herbs such as neem (antelaea azadirachta), chaste tree berry (fructus viticus agni-casti), honeysuckle, yellow dock (radix rumicis), Burdock Root Seed (fructus artcii), Dandelion Root (radix taraxaci), Chamomile (flos anthemis seu matricariae), Sarsaparilla, Milk Thistle and Burdock Root Seed, may be beneficial for the health of your skin. Lets break down these herbs to see how they could be beneficial in treating acne:

Neem is used as an anti-inflammatory. As you are probably aware, acne is an inflammatory disease. Doctors usually prescribe topical creams to treat inflammation. Neem is a tree and the oil from the tree is what is used to treat acne. There are also many other non-acne related health benefits to neem.

Chaste Tree Berry stimulates pituitary function. Pituitary glands aid in the production of oil. Too much oil production causes acne.

Honeysuckle helps the body to detoxify by causing more perspiration.

Yellow Dock purifies the blood and detoxifies the liver. A healthy blood flow is important for overall health, but also for the skin. The liver is how your body gets rid of toxins so a healthy liver is vital in keeping your skin healthy as too many toxins in you body will cause acne.

Burdock Root Seed is a blood cleanser, detoxifier and anti-inflammatory. It is used topically to treat not only acne, but cold sores and eczema as well.

Dandelion Root is a blood cleanser and stimulant for your liver.

Chamomile relieves inflammation internally and helps in cellular regeneration. Chamomile is a flower that can be found most commonly in teas. It can also be used externally.

Sarsaparilla is a detoxifier that is used as a diuretic and diaphoretic. It will cause you to urinate frequently and sweat more.

Milk Thistle is an anti-inflammatory that will detoxify your liver and regenerate it.

There are many more herbs that can be used in the treatment of acne. Don't just go out and buy a bunch of them. They need to be used with care and using all of them will not cause your acne to go away. You need to do some careful research on herbs as well as determine the type of acne you have to find the best treatment. There has to be a balance in herbs used. You could even talk to a certified Chinese doctor. The good news is that there are capsules available that contain all of these herbs called Derma Cleanse Capsules.
