The Nikon D90 digital SLR camera is one of those unsung heroes of the digital photography community. This is pretty surprising, considering the fact that its results can compete with more professional cameras like the D300, also by Nikon. It also seems to be trumping equally popular camera models like the Olympus E30 and the Canon 50D.
For any beginning photographer needing to further their digital photography hobby, the D90 is perfect for most people who are just starting. This is mainly due to the readily usable features. Anyone will learn take advantage of the various features available out of the box. Utilizing the automatic features also shows good results, too.

It is one of the truly perfect examples I can can give when I think of the saying "point and shoot". The standard functions are good ways to introduce you to the many capabilities of this amazing dslr camera. The D90 basically gives you the same quality shots as you could get from the D300 while still being simple enough for any newbie to use.
As soon as you're familiar with everything and you like you want to go a bit further, you may choose to do it your own way or resort to the internet.
