In the past, when it came to writing for the public, a person was relegated to writing in a newspaper or a magazine or a book. If you did not have a job in one of these media outlets, then you were flat out of luck. That was then and this is now, and now there are blogs.
Blogging has become a very popular thing to do. Everyone from the serious writer to the ones that just do it in a weekend warrior capacity can write a blog and post it on the Internet. When blogging first came on the scene, you would likely need a dedicated website to display your blogging skills. A website could often run you a pretty penny both then and now. However, with the advent of blogging sites, a person with something to say will not have to break the bank to get the opportunity to present it to the masses.
The first step in blog setup and in getting your blog out there is to look for a blog hosting site. In this respect, you will have many options. You can choose a free site, or you can also use a pay site as well. The benefits of pay sites are that you will typically have a lot more freedom in terms of what you write and how the site looks. A free site will often have premade blog site templates to choose from. While the choices are somewhat limited, there still is some choice in the matter. Also with free sites, you will have to be careful. If you are writing blogs with obscene language or if the subjects are deemed offensive, your blog account could be suspended.
Obviously, with the free option, there will be no up front expense, however, even if you chose to go with a pay site for your blogging, you are likely to find that the fees and charges are usually very nominal. Often times you will pay a one time fee for a domain name and then you will pay a monthly fee for the web hosting of your particular blogging website.Once you have done all this, if you have chosen the free option, it is time to look at the training manuals and tutorials that are standard with any free blog site.
These training tutorials will help you to know how to post a blog, how to edit your page and other very basic task. The reality is that blog set up in this form is very simple. With a pay site, you will want to set up your page and then all that is left to do is begin writing. |
