Ever had the builders in and have struggled to cram furniture and possession into the already jam packed garage? Annoying isn't it. Why risk the safety of your furniture by squeezing it into a tight space? Why people don't use the amenities on hand to them I do not know: self storage centres are now in close proximity to most households and they don't break the bank.
Self storage is increasing in popularity as people are finally realising just how convenient it is to hire your own storage unit where you can safely and securely store furniture, belonging, and prized possessions out of harms reach. Most households have little or no storage space at the best of times so why clutter the place up when refurbishing, redecorating or adding an extension?
If you're thinking about using the services of a self storage centre there are some key factors you should be aware of. Firstly, always use the advice of self storage centre employees as so many people hire storage units that are too big for their needs, thus wasting money. Estimating the required size of storage unit is not easy if you have never done it before, yet the experts can help to find the right size for your needs. Many factors need to be considered, especially for larger units intended for storing furniture.
For larger storage units you will have to weigh up certain aspects such as whether the furniture is stackable - if it is then this can obviously save space. Of course, it is always advisable to visit a storage centre in person or contact them via the phone as they will then be able to give you more detailed expert advice.
The advantages of employing the services of a self storage centre include 24 hour access. As the sole key holder to your storage unit, you can get to your unit at any time of the day, and as most storage centres are conveniently located, and with spacious carparks and loading bays, self storage remains hassle free.
Being able to store belongings, especially those that are treasured such as family heirlooms or antiques, safely and securely really is much more hassle free than cramming it all into your already cluttered garage. With many storage centres offering special offers including free van hire, and at affordable rates, I can't believe that people would rather cut corners and cause headaches by trying to store their furniture in other rooms in the house, making them redundant and out of bounds, in the shed (hardly secure) or in the dirty, dusty garage! |
