RSS updates, which allow you to send updates directly to any interested party without the use of email, can seriously enhance your business when done with the right amount of professional acuity. RSS feeds, which is more or less a direct link from your website to the home pages of those whom have chosen to connect with you, offer you an opportunity to get into some seriously interesting topics when it comes to your updates. For instance, let's say you are selling dog food. Since the science of canine care continuously changes, you have an opportunity to challenge not only the rest of the industry, but also the user to look deeper.
Most people get into buying habits. A habit implies that they are no longer making a choice. That lack of choice may mean that they have lost conscious thought as to why they are interested in making that choice. When you challenge your feed readers to look at any topic with more awareness, even if it is something as small as the way they purchase dog food, you are challenging them to start understanding their own behavior and their own buying habits. When you can successfully engage them in a new line of thought, then you have a stronger chance of bringing them right back to the basics of purchasing power. If you encourage them to make a more informed choice, you are also encouraging them to make a choice that financially benefits you.
Consider how you felt the last time someone challenged you to really think something through and you cam to the realization that you had been basing an action on a though that was no longer relevant or realistic. It happens to all of us, from the type of bread we purchase to how often we buy new shoes. Our buying habits are instilled in us through our experiences and we stick to what we're comfortable with. Once someone has shown you a better way, you develop a link of loyalty in their direction. That means if they showed you that the dog food you were feeding your dog isn't a very healthy choice, you would feel a sense of loyalty when it came to dog food purchases. If they had some for sale, you would probably purchase it from them. Using RSS feeds to communicate more effectively and clearly about understanding your product or service is the very same idea put into action.
The next time you go to update your RSS feed, try to find something that really engages the user and that will give the user a totally new perspective before they go out and purchase something that you carry. In many instances, simply asking the consumer to purchase from you is enough. |
