Is it because we are becoming a lazy nation that we no longer use manually operated garage doors. I suppose I could be one reason the other reason would be that manually operate garage door can be very awkward at times to open especially when they start to get older and a bit of rules may start to settle on.
I have previous experience of this in an old house that I rented for a few years where the garage door was always a bit of a nightmare to open. We are starting to see more and more people using overhead garage door openers basically because they're very useful and much easier to use specially in bad weather and the last thing you need to do is worry about opening the garage door manually.
There are a number of different types of doors available which include belt drive, chain drive, torsion bar drive and screw drive. Like everything that you purchase each of these is slightly different and has particular features, you need to really have a good understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of each type before you make your decision. Just make sure that they meet your requirements and really that's all you need to know.
If you're a DIY person you come easily installed these units with very little know-how. Just make sure that the units you purchase as a remote that can be programmed or else you may have to incur more expensive remotes from the manufacturer.
If at some stage in the future you need parts you can always find specialist companies on the Internet that's should be able to supply parts for you at a nice beaches price. Replacement parts are widely available which is good because that means that pricing will be quite competitive. |
