It has been a common assumption that wheat fiber is good for the bowels, but not many people know that wheat dominant diets can actually prove to be very harmful for their health.

In particular, if you are on a detox diet, you are strongly recommended to exclude wheat products.

Despite the fact that wheat is one of the most consumed foods, you may be surprised to know that it is relatively a new addition in the food chain for the human race. It was only after the commencement of agricultural era that we started using wheat products as food.

Many people now eat wheat three times a day, such as pasta or pizza for dinner, a sandwich for lunch, and Wheat cereal for breakfast. Add to this the snacks made of wheat, such as cakes, cookies, and muffins that they take in between the meals. But, it is very important for you to understand that wheat dominant diets can become a toxin. Therefore, if you want to live a healthy life, you must cut down your wheat intake. The idea is not to avoid wheat and wheat products completely, but just to make sure that it is not a dominant component in your diet plan.

How Can Wheat Be Dangerous For Your Health?

Gluten is one of the most dominant ingredients in wheat, which actually belongs to the family of proteins. However, recent researches have indicated that over 33% people in this world are highly sensitive to gluten. It is true that gluten is found in other food products also, such as oats, but gluten content of oats is not as harmful as it is in wheat dominant diets.

It has been found through genetic testing that since the introduction of wheat into the diet some 12000 years ago, most people have still not adapted to this change in food habits. Gliadin is the principle type of wheat gluten, which behaves like a toxin if mixed in your blood. Researchers have detected the presence of Gliadin in blood of fifteen percent people they tested, which is quite an alarming figure.

Our digestive system maintains a barrier between the blood stream and the foods we eat. When we eat heavy amount of wheat products, this barrier breaks down, which opens the door for Gliadin to enter the blood stream. The Gliadin found in wheat dominant diets when gets into the blood stream, the immune system does not accept it and it starts reacting, which eventually turns Gliadin into a potentially harmful toxin.

Another reason why you should avoid diets heavily rich in wheat is that they are very hard to digest because of the complex structure of wheat grains. In fact, avoiding wheat dominant diets is also very beneficial for people with intestinal conditions, such as Celia c, diverticulitis, Crohn's, and Ulcerate Colitis.

Their situation can significantly improve if they avoid wheat products.
