Last Friday Kelly Clarkson rocked New York City's Central Park for a special taping of Good Morning America, part of the television show's 2009 Summer Concert Series. Although the morning was slightly damp, fans still turned out en-mass, some even sporting "I Luv Kelly Clarkson" T-Shirts. It was the biggest gathering of fans for any artist during the Concert Series this year. During the mesmerizing performance, the American Idol star treated fans to "Already Gone" and "If I Can't Have You." Her latest album to hit stores is All I Ever Wanted, another record success for the Idol superstar. Don't miss this young, dynamic performer when she next swings by a city near you. You can find a pair of Kelly Clarkson tickets right now online.
Kelly Clarkson was the winner of Fox's first season of American Idol, which took place during the summer of 2002. She was an immediate favorite, thanks to her deep, matured voice as well as her undeniable charm and refreshing sense of humor. Over the entire course of the show, Clarkson never ceased to impress both judges and fans. She performed flawless versions of "Respect," "Natural Woman," Stuff Like That There" and "Without You." After she sang both "A Moment Like This" and "Before Your Love," Clarkson went onto win the Idol crown, achieving 58 percent of the final vote.
Kelly Clarkson's full-length debut album arrived in spring 2003. It was called Thankful and featured the hit songs: "The Trouble With Love Is," "Miss Independent" and her Idol hit: "A Moment Like This." This first record attempt by Clarkson is a real treat, it showcases her big personality and commanding voice. All at once, she is sexy, sassy and graceful, likely one of few to pull off such a diverse combination of characteristics. Thankful paved the way for Clarkson's future successes, the next of which quickly followed with Breakaway.
Her sophomore effort was issued in 2004 and eventually sold over five million copies. It spawned the popular singles, "Because of You," "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Since U Been Gone." The latter song as well as the entire album received Grammy Awards for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. My December followed and showcased Clarkson's foray into songwriting. While still emulating the underlying sound and style featured on her first two albums, My December was much darker and had an edgier, rock feel to it. The tracklist included the songs: "Never Again," "One Minute" and "Irvine."
Clarkson once again has found herself at the top of the charts in 2009. She entered the new year with the hot single "My Life Would Suck Without You," which incidentally set a record for the largest jump to the number one spot on the charts. The single was featured on her latest full length effort, All I Ever Wanted. This time around, Clarkson makes use of both the heavier rock sound and the softer, sugary pop ballads featured on her first two records. Score another victory for this American Idol master! |
