Orlando is a world renowned tourist destination as a direct result of the Disney presence and the number of families that flock there every year to visit it. However, there is much more to Orlando than a lot of people give it credit for.
In fact, it is one of the best bass fishing areas in the entire United States, as many knowledgeable bass fishing enthusiasts already know. The area has plenty of lakes, healthy bass populations and excellent spots for bass fishing enthusiasts to head to but you have to bear in mind that finding the perfect spot is just the start of a great fishing experience in Orlando. There are so many other aspects to consider if you want to improve your catch rate and enjoy the bass fishing action in Florida.
The following tips will help you to find the best spot, the best technique and the best bait so you can truly get to grips with bass in the Orlando area:
Expect The Unexpected - Bass are anything but habitual creatures and will go from area to area, moving in unpredictable patterns every single day. Unfortunately, humans are creatures of habit and will follow the same routine every time they head out to fish. This of course includes the same techniques, the same lures, the same spots and the same time spent there. You might be able to do that in restricted pools or controlled lakes in other states but all of the lakes around the Orlando area are expansive, largely uncontrolled and incredibly diverse. As such, the first thing you need to do is open your mind and become a little more flexible in terms of your approach.
Take 5 Minutes Out - Before you start to fish for bass in Orlando, take the time to just check the lakes. One of the great things about the lakes in Orlando is the fact that they are constantly changing. This will help you to improve your fishing skills as well as providing you with something different every day. However, it is worth taking a few moments out of your day just to check the vegetation and the level of the river so that you can formulate a plan of action from the first moment you get there.
Do Your Homework - Orlando bass fishing is renowned for being particularly tricky as a result of the fact that bass have more natural food to forage for in the lakes than most bass do elsewhere. As such, their feeding habits are very different and vary from week to week and not just season to season. It is important to understand exactly how bass operate as a result and where they will be, how they will feed and how they will behave when a lure is dangled in front of them at any given time. This knowledge is essential if you want to truly experience successful bass fishing in Orlando. |
