You've seen the ads on the internet and in your e-mail box. Get paid for surveys, they say. Have you ignored them because they must be scams? Then you might be losing money that you could make easily by simply giving your opinion. Most of us enjoy giving our opinions for free; why not get paid for them?
As with anything that hits the internet hard, paid surveys has their share of scammers to dig through. But there are also very legitimate marketing companies who are very willing to pay you to take their surveys about the products they are being paid to do research on. They want you to get paid for taking surveys.
Here's how it works. You will need to find the legitimate marketing companies offering payment for surveys. You can do this in a couple of ways. You can either scour the internet and dig through the hype and find them yourself, or you can find a list of companies who offer paid surveys. Sometimes these lists will cost you a little bit of money, but usually not too much. Many people find these lists worth it to save the time of looking for legitimate survey companies on their own.
Decide how you want to get paid for surveys. Not all paid survey companies offer cash, some offer merchandise prizes, some offer points that you can build up and buy things with them like merchandise and gift cards. But some offer cash, too. Once you decide what kinds of payment you will accept for your time and opinions, you can find a paid survey company or two to join.
You will then be asked to register and answer some questions that might seem a little personal. There is a reason for these questions, though. Some surveys are only available to a certain target market. By answering these questions the survey company knows whether you fit into the target market for certain surveys.
Once you are registered then sit back and watch your e-mail for invitations to join a survey. Check your e-mail often, though, because most of the time there is a limited time frame in which you can complete the survey.
Here's one of the downfalls of some of the legitimate get paid for surveys companies. Even though you have given them your personal demographic information, and are invited to participate in a survey, that doesn't necessarily mean you will qualify for it. Many surveys will begin by asking you even more detailed demographic information in order to target a particular group and based on the answers to these questions you may or may not qualify for the survey. That can be a little frustrating, but you should be prepared for it so that you are not discouraged.
Other than the qualifying part of the get paid for surveys companies, you should be able to easily make some extra spending money or earn some cool merchandise by taking online surveys. Don't dismiss them all as scams. |
