This summer, a record number of families have chosen to take their holiday in the UK rather than go abroad. Although you may think this is due to the economy, another pull factor is the ever increasing number of great holiday parks, activities other and various ways to keep the family entertained. The UK may be renowned for its unpredictable weather but this is one of the things that has helped UK holiday parks such as Haven to become experts in keeping the family entertained, whatever the weather.
Family summer holidays in the UK can be the most enjoyable and memorable type of holiday for all kinds of reasons. The wide variety of accommodations including caravans, camping, chalets and even apartments for that home away from home experience can all make a holiday all the more special. The most traditional and preferred UK family summer holiday appears to be the caravan holiday. This is very understandable as the excitement of staying in your own self catering caravan adds to the holiday experience, especially for children.
Of course, a family holiday isn't all about the accommodation. There needs to be lots to do to keep the whole family entertained, not just the children! An asset that the UK has to offer are its beautiful beaches. It's hard for the kids to get bored at the beach and even better, it's a relatively cheap day out. Building sandcastles, paddling in the sea and eating ice creams is all part of the family summer holiday in the UK and is a very relaxing way to spend some of your holiday. Staying on a holiday park near to the beach is such an advantage as you can take a walk along the coastline rather than having to take the car. Haven's holiday parks are ideal as they have locations right near some of the UK's best beaches such as Golden Sands, Weymouth Bay, Devon and other locations along the stretch of Wales' picturesque coastline.
The UK family holiday has much more to offer than beaches, though. Many holiday parks have a range of activities to do during the day and also entertainment at night. You can find indoor and outdoor swimming pools, adventure golf, kids clubs and various sports to partake in as well as fabulous restaurants, live music, comedy and dancing to keep you enjoying your holiday into the evening.
The main question when considering your family holiday in the UK is where to visit. This comes down to the preferences of you and your family. If you are an outdoor family who like to be in the open air, walking, climbing and adventuring then maybe a holiday in North Wales, exploring the nearby Snowdonia National Park. If you're a family who prefers to stay at a holiday park and experience all the fun on your doorstep, then researching into parks which have the most activities or the activities most suited to you should be your first step. With the choice of holiday locations and wide range of things to keep you entertained, you will surely find the perfect UK holiday for your family. |
