If you would like to decorate your home in an affordable accent, you should opt for candles. As we know, candles are available in many different sizes, shapes, colors, styles, and fragrances you can imagine. You can pick from votives, tea lights, tapered styles, and pillar candles which are the most popular. Many candles are expensive but there are lots of stylish types of candles which fit your personalized theme to fit anyone's budget. Below you will find tips on how to incorporate candles into your rooms:

By incorporating natural type elements, you can enhance any room by using a display of candles. Many items are free or are priced very low. Here are a few methods of using natural elements in your various rooms:

If you enjoy nautical type themes, sand and seashells are wonderful when you place sand in bowls and center the candles in each. Sea shells can then be scattered around along with pebbles, sand dollars and starfish. Lay some unique netting under your candle platter and then drape the various candles if you aren't planning on lighting them. Scents such as sea breeze and other beach scents will make you feel as if you are walking on the beach. By collecting your own sea shells, you can use them in your decor.

If your room is decorated in a seasonal fall theme, you can use acorns and pine cones. Wooden platters add a nice autumn feel as well. Spray varnish on the acorns and then layer these along with pinecones on your platter. Be sure to use votives or candles with glass types of coverings as acorns and pine cones are flammable. You also have the option of using battery operated candles if you choose to do so. Battery operated candles last longer too.

To illuminate your garden or deck, try filling a flowerpot filled with sand and place pillar style candles and votives on top of the sand. For a colorful and fun arrangement, you can used sands with colors such as green, pink or blue. The candles can be raised in the pot on a small stand. Scatter the flowerpots along the path to the garden and create a beautiful effect at the same time. Using mirrors helps in increasing the shimmer of candles.

You can create a romantic candle display by placing votive candles inside wine glasses on any shelf or table. Be sure to use an odd number of wine glasses as this allows the design to appear more natural as well as sophisticated. Rose petals placed in the wine glasses add a stunning impact.

Gold and red are delightful colors and look great in candle light. To incorporate these colors, you need to lay red or gold beads in the middle of the platter alongside the candles. You will see how beautiful the beads look when they sparkle from the candle light. You can also take a small strand of glass or shiny beads and wrap these around the middle of the candle.

Candle glow is enhanced when candles are placed on any reflective surface like mirrors or silver polished platters. These make wonderful centerpieces for any coffee table or dining room table. You will need to be sure to clean the shiny surfaces often to keep the shining effect.
