If you are new to social blogging or even the internet in general, you might not be aware of what picture blogs are. Picture blogs are essentially like regular blogs, but they are based around photos and videos that people in the community wan to put up. Instead of written comments and posts, everything happens via picture. Most of the time the pictures are accompanied by some sort of witty one liner to add humor to them, but that's all there is to it. There is a number of fun aspects to picture blogs, and you might be surprised by how much you could enjoy being involved in them.
For one, picture blogs are essentially a cure for boredom.
Since their contents are completely random, they often showcase a lot of interesting pictures that you may not have ever seen otherwise. You get to see the random stuff that other people find on the internet just like you do. A lot of the time there will be some sort of topic that people have to follow with their posts, and you'll get to see all the funny things that are sparked from those topics. People get creative, so you never really know what you're going to see.
Picture blogs really take social blogging to another level because there are venues available for visual interpretation. Sure a good written statement is completely valid, but a picture transforms it into something altogether different. People can see what you are talking about, or you can feed off a picture to make a witty statement. You get the chance to put a caption on your pictures, so you can really make people laugh if you think hard about what to say. One line can make the whole picture come to life and seem far more interesting.
Maybe the best part of all of this is that picture blogs are incredibly easy to use. You don't even have to speak or write well to be involved in them since the pictures speak for you. All you have to do is sign up for a free account and go post up something that you found. As long as it is funny, interesting, or at least within the confines of site rules, it'll go up on the site for the entire world to see. You can see other people's photos and rate them so that your opinion is heard. Take advantage of the picture blogging opportunities available for you.
